Dear DoDEA Educators,

Welcome to Scholastic RED!

We are pleased to continue our DoDEA/Scholastic RED Partnership for the 2008-2009 school year. Scholastic RED is an online professional development program which offers courses on literacy instruction for teachers of all grade levels. Scholastic RED courses offer you the flexibility to learn new skills, access hundreds of classroom resources, and practice instructional strategies at times convenient for you. Scholastic RED courses are aligned to DoDEA standards.

Please contact your principal for more information about registering for a Scholastic RED course. Registration will only be open for school study groups, with the exception of the READ 180 Courses. The school study group is designed to provide an opportunity for teachers to participate in Scholastic RED online courses in collaborative study groups. School study group registration requires a minimum of four participants per course.

Teachers may register for the READ 180 Courses as individuals. READ 180 Courses may only be taken by teachers currently teaching READ 180 who have completed the initial 2-day training.

Teachers have 7 days from the time they’re enrolled to evaluate the course and decide whether or not to continue or drop. Failure to drop within the deadline will impact future registration opportunities.
